We’re really lucky to have front-row seats to all the incredible work of the talented members at Path, and the team at OneHoop is certainly no exception. Leaders in economic reconciliation and Indigenous advisory services, OneHoop is breaking down barriers and creating sustainable solutions across multiple national sectors. We sat down with their incredible team to learn more about their journey, work, and visions for the future.
How long has your team worked together at Path?
Our team is growing at OneHoop, and we all have a diverse collaborative history. We’ve worked together in various capacities before, including at the local tribal council and the First Nations University of Canada's Student Association. We officially joined Path in June 2024, steadily building our team and services ever since. Path provided the perfect central space for us to converge, collaborate, and create synergy as our work expanded.
What kind of work does the OneHoop team do?
OneHoop is a National Indigenous Advisory Services and Consultation Organization, with a mission to address Reconciliation Call to Action # 92. Our work includes:
Supporting Indigenous communities and businesses with strategic initiatives, economic development, governance, and investments;
Assisting organizations with Indigenous engagement strategies, such as Reconciliation Action Plans, Indigenous Policy Development, and Cultural Awareness Training;
Developing Indigenous employment and HR strategies to foster long-term career success; and
Offering marketing, design, and brand services to elevate businesses and communities.
Our holistic approach ensures sustainable, inclusive solutions that honour Indigenous values while promoting economic reconciliation.
What motivated your company to choose Path as your home base?
While our head office remains on Indigenous land, we were drawn to Path for its strong sense of collaboration and shared purpose. Path offers a supportive, innovative culture where creativity thrives. Its environment aligns perfectly with our mission to create meaningful impact locally, provincially, and nationally.
Can you share a memorable moment or achievement from your time at Path?
The collaborative environment at Path has been transformative for us. The relationships we’ve built here have inspired us to expand our vision and take bold steps on a national scale. A standout achievement was our partnership with the Department of National Defence to organize Canada's first-ever Indigenous National Defence Conference, happening on November 28th at the National War Museum in Ottawa. It’s a testament to how Path’s supportive community has propelled our initiatives forward.
What is one key change you hope to see in the corporate landscape as a result of your work?
We aim to elevate Indigenous representation across all organizational levels, from entry positions to executive and board roles. Our goal is to shatter glass ceilings, remove systemic barriers, and pave the way for companies to embrace true reconciliation.
What advice would you give to companies considering co-working at Path?
We wholeheartedly encourage companies to join the Path community. In Cree, we say "miyo-wîcêhtowin," which means fostering good relations and expanding the circle. Path embodies this principle, offering a village of support where businesses inspire one another to grow and prosper.
